
Perennial art-rock outfit DEVO has turned to the crowd to determine the final tracks for their yet-to-be-named, upcoming album. The project called Song Study, imagines a faux-present where DEVO the band is represented by a corporate entity DEVO Inc., whose goal is to appeal to the widest possible audience with the group’s latest release.

The result is a clever interactive site hosted by a pleasant Nordic guide named Jacob, enabling fans to sample all 16 songs in running for the final playlist, ultimately selecting their final 12 along with indicating a favorite track. The votes are then tabulated in real-time, using a visual bar graph created by a collage of user submitted photos.
